Rest is an essential part of well being. That said self care is about knowing how much rest you need. I’ve found that there is a correlation between how much unoccupied time I have and my depressive episodes. It’s a vicious cycle of I don’t feel good so I don’t do anything but because I’m not doing anything I feel worse.
Lazy days where I don’t even change out of my pjs are the worst for me. More than feeling unproductive I feel apathetic towards everything, except for the self criticism that’s still strong. My most rested days are ones where I take some time to be outside, I’ll usually read at some point, and maybe if I’m feeling up to it reach out to a friend or do some light cleaning
