For this update I’m going to focus the Boston bookshelf. These stats are not what I wanted them to be. As of today I have 168 books on my shelf. About 10% are partially read, only 34% are read, so the majority (56%) are unread. Many of them are new since the Bookshelf Stats post 6 months ago. I told myself I wouldn’t especially because I bought a nook and really like that reading experience. Some of them were bought second hand and some were free to me. Despite what the changes documented in these two stats posts I have been reading more these past 6 months, I have been utilizing my library and borrowing books from friends.
In the original post I had 180 books in Boston, as you’ve noticed I’ve slimmed the selection by 12 books. Some are unread books I’ve acknowledged I have no interest in reading, some are unread books I started reading I realized I hated and DNF-ed, and a small few are read books I don’t want to keep as trophies. Some specific examples I can identify are 1) The Final Girls Support Group by Grady Hendrix – not my style DNF 2) Ain’t Nobody’s Business If You Do by Peter McWilliams not interesting to me DNF 3) I Didn’t Do the Thing Today by Madeleine Dore – read and liked well enough but not going to reread 4) A Curse for True Love by Stephanie Garber – read and loved but I only owned the third in the trilogy and didn’t want to but the first two when my roommate already owned the whole trilogy.
