Re-experience or Re-do?

Daily writing prompt
Is there an age or year of your life you would re-live?

My answer depends on how strictly are we defining re-live? Every year of my life has gotten better than the last. I am still learning and growing and looking forward to better things in the future. So if I have to re-experience a year of my life with no changes I could not be paid to go back.

However, if I have the ability to re-do a year and make changes based on who I am now and what I know now I would love to relive my freshman year of college. I struggled a lot with the transition to college, my depression and anxiety really started manifesting that year. I often isolated myself and engaged in self-sabotaging behavior. Now that I have better coping skills and a better understanding of how to navigate independence I would love to re-live that year and make it as amazing as possible.

The reason I chose my freshman year out of all my college years is that I had the opportunity to spend my entire freshman year studying abroad in Italy. It was still an invaluable experience but I still have regrets with how often I hid in my room and procrastinated to the point of damaging my academics. I overall feel I took the experience for granted and squandered valuable time that I’ll never get back and never get to correct.
